these are the ones I liked from today. Top one is wild ginger (Asarum canadense), next is trout lily (Erythronium americanum) and last is giant blue cohosh (Caulophyllum giganteum). The cohosh is not the usual one around here, and it's really purple in about another week when it flowers. These are the photos I like, the ones that are more about shape and light, than identifying a plant.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is slowly digitizing its herbarium. Maybe you will find it useful for identifying.
