Keep up working!
I'm a fan since I've listened to "lippy kids" on german public radio on easter sunday. The radio presenter announced elbow as the band doing currently the best song writing. I think he is right. Thanks also for the little explanatory videos on Guy's lyrics to the german audience. A nice gesture that will hopefully work well in the marketing respect. It felt nice to buy your current CD. Build another rocket, boys! But don't mention the war ;-)

grateful greetings from Germany

From behind the couch this morning I heard my 3yr olds boys voice singing " if she says she needs me, she says she needs me, everybody's gonna have to wait" WTF? Naturally next he'll be singing i've been working on a cocktail called grounds for divorce! We're so looking forward to the Melbourne show, got the tix yesterday...

Hi! I'm a big fan since the first album (with "Any Day Now" on the top of the list) and I managed to make a lot of friends of mine fans too! It was not too difficult: I just had to show your songs to them =)
Are you planning to come to Argentina? Pleeeeeeeeeeeaseeeeeee!
One more thing: the moment I thought I had chosen the best Elbow song ever ("My Very Best") you recorded "The Birds" and made me rethink my choice! Absolutely brilliant song!
Thank you for all the awesome music and lyrics.
Sebastián (a big fan from Buenos Aires).

You are coming to the US & Canada-yeah! The only show remotely near me is Toronto-but you are booked into the venue rated the worst in the city. Terrible sound. Please!!! can't you play somewhere else too?How about the Royal Oak Music theater in Michigan? Ann Arbor maybe?

I'm in Ohio, so none of the shows are very near me. Thus, tomorrow I will be purchasing tickets to the show in NYC.
Mr. Garvey,
Your lyricism not just in song but also in ordinary conversation displays an eloquence simply charming. Every account of you I have seen or heard claims you are a very nice person. Not to mention your arranging work for various guest instrumentalists and vocalists is superb!
Mr. Turner, Mr. Jupp, and Mr. Mark 'Pot' Potter;
You lot are some of the most patient instrumentalists I have ever heard. Every note you play is necessary; there are no throwaways just to keep you from being bored. There is no flashiness in order to impress by displaying speed; your parts are for the sake of the music-- the way it ought to be.
To Craig Potter,
I feel as though you are Elbow's secret weapon. You work so hard to maintain every keyboarding subtlety like the consistent flub note in Scattered Black and Whites I have come to love and the manual delay in Jesus is a Rochdale Girl. All that in addition to all the mixing and mastering-- To be frank, holy ****!
I idolize every one of you, and thank you for effecting in me a taste in music worth something! I've had it with the stuff everyone listens to around me!
I desperately hope to meet you all someday. There are many things I'd like to talk about with you. I, my family, and my (amateur) bandmates will see you in New York! (There's 8 of us coming.)

P.S. I don't mean to be nosy or even creepy, only persistent. If there's a difference.

I saw you last weekend at the rainy southside festival and I have to say that never ever before has a band managed to warm me up like that. When the sun came out while you were performing 'perfect weather to fly', I almost started crying. Perfect moment. Thanks a million!
I will definitely see you in Munich at the end of the year!

Upcoming show in Toronto - notice about the venue.

I'm a huge fan and have bought tickets to the Toronto show in the Sound Academy. It is such a pity the gig is on there as the venue is pretty poor. Sound is great but you can't see anything. The stage is very very low and the floor sides of the venue are lower than the middle of the room which means next to no one can see the stage unless they are way back or literally directly in front of the stage.

I doubt there is much you can do but if you have any pull at all you should try and get them to engineer some way of raising the stage or you guys so people can see you.

I have yet to meet a person who has been to a gig at the Sound Academy and not complained about the problems seeing the band play.

Having said that I am really looking forward to the show. One Day Like this was basically the theme song at my wedding 1 month ago.

See you in September!
