"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience
Skating away, skating away, skating away
On the thin ice of the new day"

I'm sorry to hear of your loss and adore that first shot... I hope your Esme is as thought provoking as her namesake
Thank you Dhamaka. Esme is that thought provoking. She's quite the character and already a thief of note, with her special stash of treasures. :)
Thanks for the hl!
Thanks, Viv. Chas actually sits still for a photo shoot, an unusual quality in a rat. :D
Sorry to hear about Alfie, that's sad. Love the colours in that first short; such an adorable paw :)
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Alfie, Caine. My condolences. I know how hard it can be, having lost my adorable ginger cat, Jeff, earlier that month.
Agree that the first shot is lovely and I think I'm in love with Esme.
Nige, thank you. Chas (top shot) is one of those lucky ones, good lookin' all the way.
Dania, thank you, I'm sorry to hear about Jeff. Esme is such a massive monster in tiny package - she bullies Chas something fierce. Last night, I saw her grabbing his ear and trying to pull him. Even so, he seems fond of her, unless she's trying to horn in on his peanut butter. :D
Sorry to hear about Alfie, glad to hear he was bruxing and boggling right up to the end (not sure what bruxing and boggling mean, but love the sound of the words). Also love the naming of Esme (and I am determined to use the word skitterbiscuit ln the next 24 hours).
Oh yes and that top shot is just ace.
Hi Maggie, thank you. Bruxing is when rats grind their teeth, it makes quite a bit of noise and is akin to purring. Boggling is something they do when very, very happy - their eyeballs vibrate. You can see a rat boggle here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBwC5vUhy4w&feature;=related
Skitterbiscuit...it describes Esme well right now! :D
Thanks Caine and Jace is just ace!
I did use 'Skitterbiscuit' today, when my son dropped a pack of Weetabix (OK not exactly biscuits, but close enough) on the floor ..... there are lots of real skitterbisciuts in Year 7 but I don't get to see them til Friday :)
Thank you, Caine. I miss him a lot. Just got around to post something about it on my moblog.
Esme sounds like she has quite a strong personality. Looking forward to more rat tales involving her. :)
It's so very hard when you lose them, it's always too soon.
Yes, Esme oozes personality. She bruxed and boggled for me the first time a couple of days ago and has made giant strides since. She's having a blast bullying the new kid, too.
