Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti : “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
"The bottom line is that the same supplement used by two different people for the same condition can produce two entirely different results. What does that mean? It means that gulping down "miracle herbs" and "miracle supplements" to treat disease is like trying to hit a clay pigeon in the sky, with a 22-caliber rifle . . . while blindfolded. The odds are very much against you.
The secret to health, the secret to all the success that the great alternative healers share, is that they look to raise every inch of a person's Personal Health Line. If you do that, if you raise the entire line, the odds are in your favor. In fact, it's almost impossible to miss."
Jon Barron...
on using glucotor.
on balancing blood sugar.
Jon Barron is the person to whom I turn to for verification, whenever I read about something new. (This doesn't mean I follow every recommendation he makes, or follow a vegetarian diet which he recommends - just that he writes with such clarity about complicated conditions and presents a scientific approach to the subject of nutritional therapy.

Still looking in detail at many things - not changed body weight, but shape and fitness better.
Had an hour with Lesley a dietician earlier in April (next patient didn't turn up.) This was our second meet and I wasn't sure that she could help me - I do tend to side with nutritionalists not dieticians who I would think have to recommend the gov't guidelines on diet - no wonder the nation's f*****!
Anyway she turned out to be a good counsellor. Two things she said made an impact...
she asked if I felt depressed after listening to my reply she said she thought I seemed frustrated and I realised that she was right - which had definite implications on my choices
following that she asked on a scale of 1-10 how important was losing my weight
- a clear 10 for health reasons primarily but aesthetic too
and then she asked the question which really had an impact...
on a scale of 1-10 how confident are you that you will achieve this target?
5 - (maybe reflected my 2 year plateau - neither failure nor success)
to which she replied that signifies low self esteem - I think she's right, although it is more wavering :)
Anyway it helped me to think more positively - I was due to have my diabetes check a couple of weeks later so had time to think and act a little before then
