A craft moment:
*Can't
Remember
A
F**king
Thing....*
*Could we see when and where we are to meet again, we would be more tender when we bid our friends goodbye.*
Marie Louise De La Ramee
I'm assuming that this was for a play or something and not just walking around clothes. If it was just for walking around, I can imagine that when archeologists review the remamnants of our long dead civilisation they will shake their heads at this photo and say "oh, I get it - decadent AND stupid".
Judging by what I found when I googled "dogs dressed as pirates* I'm supposing this is something people do to make amusing photos. God only knows what future generations will think of us, dogs dressed as pirates is probably the least of the insane and idiotic things we do.
Can you tell I'm working from home again today?
My reaction is thus:
Also, to me, it looks like a child trying to look up a dog's bum.
OK, our local fire & rescue teams use bespoke booties to protect their search dogs' feet from broken glass, etc. Greyhounds are short on natural undercoat so do sometimes need a raincoat or something to keep off the draught...
This though, goes beyond clothes, through props, & right out into mise-en-scène. If they did it for an animal charity fancy dress competition, I'll duck my head & accept it as a frolic. Otherwise - people scare me.
Wendle - that clip comes from the Dark Side. ;)
Dogs are such beautiful and entertaining creatures anyway.. They don't need embellishing.
Looks like the dog dressed as two pirates is going in to room 101 then. Somebody must like this shit otherwise folks wouldn't do it..
must admit though when Beth puts Benji into his Christmas suit he does seem to enjoy it :)
Apologies hildegard, I meant human style clothes. There's not a thing wrong with working dogs wearing protective clothes or fluorescent jackets, or sparsely coated or old dogs wearing rain coats or fleeces. But there seems to be a breed of silly women (not the Dawsons) who buy ridiculous designer outfits for their pooches and it bothers me a lot. I'm with CandyMan and you on this one.
