When vanity is clearly not an option.......... crank up the contrast!
Well hello again. I can hear the audible groans now as mobloggers around the world sigh.
Its been 5 years, can you believe it ? since mad Nige got some of us to join him in a daily self portrait, alledgedly for a whole 365 days. So I thought it would be interesting to compare/contrast ( just like an english essay) then and now.
I'm not going to make any grand promises about sticking it out to the end and I'm already wondering whether this is a daft thing to do, but alot has happened in the last five years.
I originally started this along with nige and a few others back in June 2007 and as I discovered it would prove much more difficult than I had anticipated. I enjoyed it all very much and I think at the time my portrait photography got better.

I've got to be honest and say I am really struck with just how quickly the last five years has gone. The end of June 2012 already. I remember the turn of the century, seems like it was just yesterday. So much has happened in the last five years. I want to say something profound or poignant about the passing of my time, but it would just be waffle :D Day 2 five years ago we had been to my best friends 35th wedding anniversary. Sadly we are becoming somewhat estranged, I dont know why. May be its a phase, a time of life. I know sometimes relationships wax and wane.
Today I had planned to rest, ha ha not to be. Spent quite a bit of the day at the seaside (teenage taxi service)But It was sunny if rather windy.
The time is supposed to say 12.45, the time I was born, but looks more like 10 past nine.
The song ? well I think the lyrics probably say it all.

yes it is Viv but we've known each other for so long, over 40 years. I guess it will resolve itself, like most things perhaps this relationship is going through a process of adjustment. Both our lives are full of stuff but in very different ways. I think my other best friend dying of lung cancer 18 months ago may have something to do with it.
