It's always like that around this time of year - Gandhi Jayanti, an Indian national holiday to celebrate his birthday, is Oct 2nd. There's a ceremony in the park every year, usually featuring the Indian Ambassador & people take tributes along for some time thereafter if they can't be there on the day.

So that's it! He gets tributes practically everyday at other times of years by visitors. Once I found a letter sitting beneath asking Gandhi to grant the writer a particular wish.
