Thanks to A THOUGHT FOR TODAY
from A.Word.A.Day with Anu Garg
Crazy to think that it's 100 years since the First World War started. Both an aeon away and yet only just out of reach of living memory.
maybe I should tag it - yes I will
I thought when I took it - there's a story here. Why in this corner. I thought about it as I walked the dog this chuchyard is maintained - presumably by Notts CC as it is within the bounds of Colwick Park. All the grave stones have been placed near the walls - that's why we went in there so the girls could play hide and seek. I think that when they did that one of the workman was touched by the cross and vase twig remains and rather than getting rid of them put them in this corner.
Thanks for adding, it is strange beauty. I guess you are winning the competition so far! :P
And I wonder at the story too. Are there lots of those crosses? One thing that still hasn't been solved very well technologically is the stories around places.
