Location: Kinver, Staffordshire & Worcester Canal.
We left Swindon this morning and now tied-up up out of the way just north of Kinver for a few days while we wait for mail and enjoy this fine weather we're having. Smoke from the wood burner is lazily curling from the chimney as we keep the chill of early evenings at bay and the boat warm throughout the night. The aroma of slow burning oak-logs tells me my world is just fine. I trust yours is too.

I would have trodden on this little fellow of a woodmouse if I hadn't had the presence of mind to look down as my eye caught the tiniest movement amongst the leaf litter at my feet. Lo and behold I found three more little-ones, completely still and near invisible in the shadows of leaves on the woodland floor. One of those 'really wild' magic moments.

Continuing south we tied-up at Wombourne to 'Big' shop at a canal-side Sainsburys. The towpath gardens are a delight.
